Cortland Fly Rods

Cortland fly rods are not as well known as their fly lines. However, if you're looking for a great value, you may want to have a look at one of their fly rods. I personally have never cast one of these rods. But, for a company that makes such quality fly lines and other fly fishing products, they may be worth a try. Have look at their products below. Precision XC: These Cortland fly rods are made of high modulus graphite, lightweight hardware, and a cutaway design. Line weights 3-8, and 10 weight. Available in two, four and eight piece models, all rods come with a rod sack and embroidered cordura case. Priced $159-$189.

CL Series: 100% graphite, crisp action, multi-piece rod. Rods feature a deep green finely sanded finish, up-locking reel seat and wood insert. Line weights 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 6/7, 7/8, 8/9. Also available in 6 piece travel series. The nine foot 8/9 (6 piece travel series) is outfitted with a removable fighting butt. Each CL is packed in a cloth bag and green Cordura travel case. Priced $92-$149. (travel series more expensive).

CL Saltwater: Fact action rod includes two stripping guides, oversized snake guides, full metal anodized reel seat and fighting butt. Line weights 6/7, 7/8, 8/9, 9/10. Priced $139.

GRX Graphite: Moderate action fly rod . 100% graphite blanks and "tip-over-butt" ferrule systems. The GRX rods are smooth-sanded graphite black with black wraps and silver trim and a woven reel seat. Line weights 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 6/7, 7/8. These rods are two piece but also come in a travel series in 3 or 4 piece. Priced $79-$119.

Endurance: These fast action Cortland fly rods are designed with every fisherman in mind. Whether it be fresh or light salt water fly fishing, this rod will get the job done. Made of three layer HM45 graphite, and a translucent olive flake finish increases the aesthetic appeal. All models come with a PVC Cordura® nylon-covered triangular cross-section tube to keep it from rolling and an internal nylon divider bag. Comes in line weights 4-7 and is available in 2 or 4 piece models. Priced $139-$159.
